Are there any countries that are actually dangerous for a woman alone to go to (you know, besides all of the middle east)? It seems like the world has seriously gotten woman friendly in the past several years.

    • There are definitely some places that are less “female-friendly” and places not recommended for solo travelers (both male and female). Specifically certain parts of countries we wouldn’t think of as dangerous. But, the world perspective on travel safety is definitely catching up with the reality that it’s not a big scary place out there 🙂

I would imagine Turkey can be a nightmare as the men zoom in on you. they are all players and are after what they can get from you. I would not like to go to middle east on my own – or any country where a woman is a second class citizen – or where Muslim is the main religion of the country. I have been on holiday alone and am flying off to Rome tomorrow.

I just traveled to Dubai on my own for 3 days and I felt safe. I had a lot of fun on my own and was able to get around using the subway no problem! I’m a 26 yr old woman of asian descent.

I have lived in the Middle East as a young woman and I think that as long as you’re careful, you won’t find it any less safe than some of the places on this list. I disagree with Thailand being safe for solo female travellers. Also, you can’t group all the places in one country with one label of safety. All countries have their shit going on, people are generally safer when they know what to avoid. U.A.E and Oman are very safe countries. Oman is a little boring, unless you are interested in the beaches and local culture.

Thailand is a lot safer and less oppressive than the Middle East for solo female tourists.

I traveled to Istanbul alone and felt perfectly safe there. The men only want to sell rugs.

I’ve traveled to Istanbul twice solo. Loved it and never felt unsafe.

          • Thanks for sharing 🙂

Let me be the first to comment this year.I’m a male but wonder where blondes think they can go without any trouble-certainly not my neighborhood.

  2. I am glad to see some of these on your list. I had wondered about Thailand and its safety.

    • Thailand is a GREAT place for solo female travelers! Lots of female bloggers based in Thailand as well!

My favorite smart features of my old home! 🏠

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).

This isn’t a hotel.
It isn’t a resort.
It’s ONE vacation home — and it might be the most epic one I’ve ever stayed in. 🤯

We stayed at @lazyriverresort in Palm Springs with 4 families and 11 kids — and I can confidently say this is the ultimate group vacation house. From morning lazy-river floats to arcade tournaments to movie nights, you truly won’t hear “I’m bored” even once. (Parents… you know how big that is. 😅)

This place is a private mega-estate designed for groups that want to actually stay together — without sacrificing space, comfort, or fun:
 ✔️ Sleeps a massive group (25+)
✔️ Iconic bunk room with 8 queen beds
✔️ Private lazy river + water slides
✔️ Full arcade + movie theater

It’s perfect for all kinds of groups — the ultimate setup for birthdays, reunions, bachelorettes, retreats, or those long-overdue “let’s all finally travel together” trips.

And the cherry on top? The @staywandery concierge service. They helped us coordinate an in-home hibachi dinner night (yes, comedic chef + fire + kids losing their minds). They can arrange everything for your visit from private chefs to photographers to yoga instructors — making group travel easier and more memorable. ✨

It’s the kind of place where you don’t need a packed itinerary — the experience is the house.

Tag your group — this is the trip you’ll be talking about for years!
